Director of Operations

What You'll Do

1. Organizational Execution

• Convert strategy into clear operational plans, timelines, KPIs, and ownership across all programs and teams.
• Ensure delivery, quality, and accountability across the organization, nothing falls through the cracks.
• Act as the central point of coordination across leadership, programs, and partners.

2. Program Delivery at Scale

• Oversee end-to-end delivery of pre-accelerators, ecosystem programs, and national platforms.
• Own program calendars, milestones, logistics, and multi-city execution.
• Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to sponsor and partner standards.
• Drive continuous improvement using data, feedback, and learning.

3. Systems, Processes & Governance

• Design and implement SOPs, workflows, and tools that scale without creating bureaucracy.
• Strengthen internal reporting, monitoring, documentation, and compliance.
• Clarify roles, decision-making, and accountability across teams.

4. Team Leadership

• Lead, manage, and develop program managers and operations staff.
• Set clear expectations, support execution, and resolve issues early.
• Hire, onboard, and grow high-performing operators.
• Foster a culture of ownership, trust, and follow-through.

Profile & Experience

You are a senior operator who thrives in complex, high-stakes environments and brings structure to ambiguity.

• 5–8 years of experience in operations, program management, startups, accelerators, VC, or ecosystem-building organizations.
• Proven experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder programs ideally in emerging or post-crisis contexts.
• Strategic thinker with strong hands-on execution skills.
• Calm under pressure; able to manage multiple moving parts without losing the big picture.
• Strong operational judgment, knowing when to move fast and when to slow down.
• Mission-driven, impact-oriented, and willing to step in wherever needed.
• Comfortable working across founders, sponsors, government entities, and international partners.

Requirements

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and large initiatives.
• Native Arabic speaker with fluency in Arabic and English.
• Based in Damascus, Syria or able to work closely with in-country teams, with regional coordination.
• Strong cross-cultural communication and stakeholder management skills.
